Visit the new Autism Football feature, in association with Arsenal Foundation, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, Watford FC CSE Trust and West Ham United Foundation.
On Friday learn how different football models, activities and programmes can be an effective tool to build confidence and social interaction in autistic children and adults. You’ll find ideas and support for teachers working with children with autism. Workshops will be running at the following times:
11am – 11.45am Storytelling through football to reduce anxiety and increase participation levels, delivered by Arsenal Foundation
12pm – 12.45pm Providing programmes for individuals with autism to build the confidence and skills needed to transition into employment, delivered by Tottenham Hotspur Foundation
2pm – 2.45pm Learn how different football activities can be an effective tool to build confidence and social interaction and reduce anxiety levels, delivered by West Ham United Foundation
3pm – 3.45pm Multi-functional football movement activities to socially interact autistic participants, delivered by Watford FC CSE Trust
On Saturday autistic visitors can take part in a range of football skill activities including dribbling, passing and shooting. Families can meet coaches from some of the Premier League’s leading clubs and discuss what suitable activities are available in their local area.
